We enjoyed a very nice afternoon at this cafe. The atmosphere was lovely and honestly I haven’t had such a good piece of cake and coffee as here in a long time. Very professional and friendly staff and it goes without saying that everything is homemade. Really the choice of cake’s and other dishes is splendid. This is a great place. The food is excellent in taste as well as being a visual delight. To the folks who work there are a pleasure to deal with as well as knowledgeable about the floors they serve. And the atmosphere is wonderful in a building that seems as if it had been there for hundreds of years. I will return. Definitely.

Everything was great since being welcome at the entrance, the service, the place is just lovely. I'm not a pastry person, but I had the best Käsetorte of my life. I definitely want to go back.
This might have been the first café I've ever visited as a child or at least it is the first one I still remember. It has been part of Hattingen since I can think and I used to go there on special occasions with my family for cake and hot tea or coffee. It is really quaint and delightful, a bit dark and intimidating as a child, but cozy. Lots of old people and families visit it. It is very traditional. The cakes there were always heavy on cream and super sweet. Wonderful if you like that sort of stuff. I think it can make you very nostalgic. I sat there for hours having cups of tea once, talking away the day. That was beautiful.
Wonderful atmosphere, a large variety of nice cakes and hot chocolate, gentle and swift service. The only problem is finding a free table: the place is always very busy.
